Although my SJS family knows me as Mrs. C., my name is Donna Carbone and I have worked at SJS as a Para Professional for four years. In my earlier years, I worked at a preschool center and loved working with children, so it has, indeed, been a pleasure getting back to doing something I so love to do. I began as a Para (Teacher’s Aide) in the fourth and fifth grades. My duties ranged from helping students, both academically and socially, to helping them with difficulties in learning, whether as a group, or individually. After two years, I transferred to the kindergarten class and I am now in my third year as a Para for the kindergarten teachers and students. I love working for and with the kindergarten classes and can’t imagine being anywhere else. I love my position and enjoy being a part of shaping and assisting our young people as they begin their academic journey through SJS. I love spending time with God, my family and friends, and my baby girl Daisy (my dog). I am an avid reader, I love books and I write poetry in my spare time. At the end of the day, I just want every child, no matter their age, to feel that they are in a safe and nurturing atmosphere, surrounded by people who care about them.
